Detoxing Doesn't Have To Be Extreme

Detoxing Doesn't Have To Be Extreme

Whether you have been overindulging, are searching for a way to kick start your weight loss, or simply want to cleanse, you may be considering some extreme fasts or detox cleanses.

While you can go the extreme route, of course with the guidance of a qualified healthcare practitioner, it is unnecessarily to go to extremes.

Instead, consider the cleansing and detoxifying tips below.

Go Vegan And Organic

Commit to a full week, full month, or even a couple of months of a diet that is vegan, organic, or vegan and organic. This detox approach is easy to stick to because it limits your food without leaving you hungry.

Find a variety of easy recipes to make at home, or find a nearby restaurant that cooks vegan and organic.

Detox Smoothie

A Sugar Detox

There is much confusion about sugar detoxing. The most common misconception is that you must eliminate all sugar. Instead, remove all processed sugars and the carbs your body processes as sugar.

In other words, only eat sugars found in nature. That being said, limit fruits to 3 to 5 servings per day.

Juice And Smoothie Cleanse

A juice and smoothie detox can be as simple as replacing one meal a day with a juice, smoothie, or fruit and veggie soup.

So you have the protein and energy you require, add nuts, avocado, nut butter, or protein powder.

Detoxing Your Skin

Your skin is your body's largest organ, and it needs to be detoxed from time to time, too. There are many ways to detox your skin:

  • Use an all-natural, exfoliating body soap at least once each week.
  • Dry brush 1 to 3 times a week.
  • Head to the spa or sauna, 1 to 4 times a week.
  • Take 1 or 2 Epsom salt baths a week, of course with your favourite essential oils.

The detox and cleansing tips above are minimally invasive, making them easy to commit to. Try one at a time as to not shock your body.
